Mobile website design was considered a somewhat arcane art for quite a while, mostly because smartphones were so new and nobody knew quite what the mobile market was going to be like. But we’ve had a few years to break it down, and we’re getting used to it. Here’s what every small business’ SEO company needs to be doing to maximize their client’s profits from their mobile sites:
Make sure your mobile website queries for resolution and displays in the height and width correct for the device it’s displaying on. Too many times I’ve gone to a site on my Kindle Fire and found that it natively displayed in a column 2/3rds the width of my screen. That’s just bad design.
Optimize for navigation, not information. If you have to move information two clicks further along than it used to be, that’s OK — as long as the path to navigate to it is obvious and easy. A few more finger taps never dissuaded someone determined enough to browse on a mobile device in the first place, but being unable to find the information they want in a reasonable timeframe totally will.
Simplify, edit, simplify, cut the extra, and then simplify again. Traditional websites are meant to be viewed on a nice big screen, giving you comfortable places to put everything — and even then, the best, most usable websites often just have a big catchy graphic and several well-placed links. Mobile sites need to be even simpler than that: they need to maximize the core, relevant information and leave everything else to deeper pages that the surfer can click through to if need be. Breaking the http version of the site into multiple pieces and arranging them in an intuitive hierarchy is an excellent start — but removing the unnecessary bits is even better.
Keep your questions simple. The one thing that unites all smartphone users is a vague (or sometimes very specific) loathing of their keyboards. So if you can avoid forcing them to use their keyboards, do so. If your squeeze page can get by with a ZIP code and an email address, don’t ask for anything else.
Follow the fundamental law of mobile sites: user experience before all else, and your mobile website will be profitable in the end.

Okay, so for a while now i have been considering investing in a new computer like a mac and a kit to edit and burn dvds from vhs. What i was planning on doing was burning these dvds for local people in my small town of 10,000+ and family / friends.
To start this i need

Now what i need to know from you people out there is. Would you pay for this service? would you pay to have your old vhs home videos converted to dvd with transitions – possibly menu depending on the time it takes… gift case etc.
-Also i would be willing to put these files on a free media hosting site, so in the case that they ever lost the file or don’t have a dvd burner etc. they could download the files onto their computer fom a personally created account on one of these sites. (possibly put in the mobile phone – ipod format for them (additional fee?)

I responded to an ad on atlantabackpage.com which was requesting a personal driver. In response, I received an email from Deanna Sweeney who claims to be coming to the US for lectures and such. The response seemed weird, so I started an internet search and found a similar ad from 2008 that used the same wording but was asking to rent houses instead of personal drivers.
The wording is exactly the same as previous years, so I believe that it must be a scam.

I am creating a website for a musician. Therefore I need to be able to showcase the artist’s songs, videos, and photos, etc. I would prefer not to have to link the videos from youtube. Is there other options available to me that I can use in order to do this? The artist’s videos are not on youtube. They’re only on my computer and maybe a couple on Facebook at the moment. Can’t I upload them to FTP or something?? Is that not a good idea anymore or something?
I also would like to have the option to go through many templates AND be able to customize the template to my liking such as add criteria, remove criteria, change colors, etc. I have not figured out the art of designing my own web design template yet.
I want a welcome page that users can click to enter the website. I wanted a snippet of a video I actually created to play for a few seconds and then the option to get into the full website becomes available. Where can I find information on how to do that? I am very inexperienced with RVs, so I need lots of help. I am thinking of buying a RV because me and my family love road trips. I think it would be a good way to come together and connect the family. I need something that will sleep 5-8 people comfortably. Here are some questions:
1) Have you had good experience with a RV? Was it worth owning one?
2) Should I get a trailer(I don’t have a truck, but I could buy one) or mobile RV?

3) What is a good budget when looking for a RV?

Money is not a issue in my family but I don’t know if it is worth spending so much money on a RV. I was thinking $50,000-75-000 budget maybe? Is that a good budget? I’ve been mostly looking at A-class and C-class mobile RVs. Or should I get a truck and a trailer? I don’t know, I think it would be hard to haul a trailer and it wouldn’t be as comfortable as traveling in a RV(while the car is in motion). I’ve been looking at the C-class, but now I’m thinking maybe it has a trashy design? I’m not sure. Are there any stereotypes out there with C-class? A-class is huge, like a bus. Which would be the best for me? I need something that’s practical, can sleep 5-8 comfortably, and easy to drive for a vehicle this size.

There are a bunch of programming classes I could take through community college before i graduate, but I don’t know if they will help. I can’t take anymore Computer Science courses at my university because they are all reserve for CS majors. Should I take some of the community college classes? There are classes on Visual Basic, C#, Game Development, Web Development, ASP.NET, JavaScript, etc. this is al stuff I have been seeing on job descriptions.
I have a few projects underway. For one, I am developing a mobile version of my church’s website. That’s a pretty major project. Plus I have some other personal projects that I plan to have done within a year to prove my skills. Will a good portfolio of programming projects, plus my math degree be enough to land me a job?
I have been VERY frustrated with my job search, and I don’t want the cycle to continue. So I know the solution is to improve myself.
Also I think I will have a [paid] internship next summer.
I don’t expect to get a job as a a senior developer right off the bat obviously.
Basically what I mean is how can I compete with CS majors?

Hey, ok so I’ve got a bit of a dilemma. *this is a long question but please read it fully if you think you can offer advice!*
I REALLY want a Blackberry, but I’m only a teenager and it’s stupid for teenagers to get a contract billpay phone, far too expensive… and up until recently, no network offered them on Pay As You Go – until I saw Vodafone had the Curve 8520 on Pay As You Go for just €140 when you switch!
But currently I’m with Meteor and I like the service they give, because I was with Vodafone before and they weren’t very helpful. So I went into Meteor and asked what could I do and they said the Blackberry won’t be Pay As You Go on Meteor for a long time… but I could buy a Blackberry Curve on eBay or somewhere as long as it was Sim-Free… I want a new one, but the cheapest new Blackberry I can find online is on MobileFun.co.uk (with 2 year warranty – which is more than what Vodafone offer! – and 30 day money back guarantee so it is pretty safe) and is still €250…!!!
I could get a cheaper second hand Curve of a lesser model (8300 or so…) for about €115 but then why would I if there are newer more hi-tech versions out?!
I wanted to shop around because it is a lot of money to pay for a phone – but I wanted one that would last because I’m sick of 1/2 a year phones that run out of warranty …
What do you think I should I do?
1. Buy an expensive new Sim-free Curve online and stay with Meteor ?
2. Buy a second hand lesser model and stay with Meteor ?
3. Settle for the €150 Blackberry on Vodafone but put up with their bad service ?

Hi! I am a highschool student preparing to study abroad. I need a labtop for schoolwork,online classes and also social networking. Such as Facebook, and Skpe. I also need 20 GB for all my music. And room for 3000 pictures. And one or two games, but easy ones like Sims or something. And I would like movies. Like 20 or so. I am also poor and must pay for it myself, so cheaper cost is a must. I was at laundry mat today, and I set my iPhone 4 on the counter to go wash my hands because I had been touching detergent and stuff.. So anyway, I left it there for TOPS 2 minutes, and when I came back, it was gone. I was like freaking out, and I asked everyone in the laundry mat if they had seen it (obviously I didn’t ask them if they took it because if they did, they wouldn’t tell me). They all said no. I also checked all my laundry baskets, every crack and crevice in the counter that I put my phone on. Nothing. By this point, I was ALMOST positive that it was stolen. I then figured that I would use my friends phone to try and call it… And keep this in mind, I had my phone on and it was fully charged. So I called it, and it went straight to voicemail, meaning it was off! So now I was positive it was stolen.. I immediately went to the local police station and filed a stolen item report.. They asked me questions about the phone, any suspicious behavior that I may have noticed while I was doing my laundry… Anyway, that was all they could do. They said that they would check the surveillance cameras to see if they could see or identify the persons face. do you think that i will get it back? i don’t live in a huge city or anything. it was stolen in conway newhampshire, which is a tiny town, even though theres a lot of people. my whole family and friends was telling me that the policeman offering to check the cameras was raising my chances of getting it back 9238402394098 times.. but i’m still worried. i’m 14, and it’s not like i have a lot of money to get a new one. my aunt bought it for me for a christmas gift, and is paying for the service…
also, i was wondering, i planned on calling up AT&T and seeing if there was any way to track it down, before i canceled the service.. i don’t wanna do that right yet, until it’s confirmed that i’m not getting it back. could i like track it or something. i know the iphone has an app thats like “find my iphone” or something but I don’t know how to use it.. I’ve been troubleshooting websites on my iPad and came across something I can’t figure out! On my pages I have divs that hold the content. Everything is fine and dandy. Once I get on a page with content that too big for the page — and you need to scroll — the div and text get smaller. How do I get that page’s div like the rest of them?

I have access to several Adobe apps (Muse, Flashbuilder, Flashprofessional, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Edge) and I don’t know which one I should spend my time learning. I currently maintain three websites (that I built by coding in a text-editor). I am interested in making these websites mobile-device friendly, adding slideshows, etc. I don’t know if one Adobe app can do it all or if I need to use several.

In the childhood days I am very passion towards computer, I used to play many games, Paint with the help of the computer. I scored 100 percent in my computer science exam which mainly deals with basics. I thought it’s a magical machine but after matured I came to know it is a machine which contains set of program written by the programmer.
In the higher secondary level I came to know the various parts of the computer, once I saw the mother board it consists of chips, but I don’t know its working in those days, I asked many doubts to my brother and teacher who clearly explained all the parts of the computer. Then I am very much familiar with all the internal parts of the personal computer, it also helps to develop more interest on computer science field.
I like to develop my knowledge more into that field, so I preferred B.E computer science and Engineering from the breadth of Anna University. From the lecture of efficient professor I came to know various internal operations of the computer like program, operating system, etc once I entered in the second year I know the various details of the computer science application. I learned more subjects which includes languages like c, oops concepts, DBMS, OS, Networks, etc., so I am very much clear with the basic concepts of these subjects I like to enhance my knowledge in this particular field by pursuing MSc in Advance Computer Science from your Institution. I believe it will also serve to give direction to my goal of a career as a research professional at an academic or commercial, research-oriented organization.
In my undergraduate studies, I attained information from the breadth of Anna University’s syllabi content that has given me a complete exposure to the heart areas of Computer Science and a strong conceptual understanding of the same. In those four years of study, I strived to maintain an approach of expending independent effort in all my deeds. Learning, putting them to practice and sharing my knowledge with others has been most valuable and takes pleasure in, when comprehending a concept.
Over these years, I expanded the knowledge in all the areas of Programming Concepts in Computer Science. Thereafter, to automate the ideas, I started gaining knowledge in various programming languages like C, C++, JAVA, Visual Programming, J2EE, mobile technologies like J2ME, WAP, WML, backend databases like SQL Server, Oracle and Scripting languages like JavaScript, VBScript, in college. With these, I started computerizing my ideas attained which has leaded me to appreciate the intricacies involved and broach my curiosity to undergo research in this field.
In the third year I develop my self in various fields of computer science and I develop a program which is utilized for practical works, I gained affection from my professor and they motivated a lot, which gives me more passion towards that particular field, By gaining affection and attraction from my staffs and friend I was elected as the president of computer science department and organized International Technical Symposium. I was the coordinator for PARROT club (student’s organization) organizing technical college events, and magazine releases. I won third Prize in Dance competition in IIT Sarang.
For my B.E project, I decided to concentrate on mobile based mapping application based on J2ME Technology. The J2ME application living on the cell phone was used to communicate with the remote systems. Locations are expressed both as graphical and textual descriptions. The project examines the best way to allow real time, read only access, for remote, possibly non-technical users, to an information system. I also done a project PAWS that supports both process design and execution. It supports the aspects of adaptation, coupling design-time and runtime mechanisms in a global environment. An website was created for a an institution where each student and staff were provided a webpage and options available to design their webpage like the background color, upload picture, add templates etc. .I also underwent a 15-day training in BSNL.
My future plan is to develop a new IT Sector in most innovation and advancing concept, this can be obtained by studying the concepts thoroughly which helps to develop my skills in that particular field, this can be obtained from post graduation and it is worth by doing Msc in Advance Computer science from your institution.

On there website a 400 watt amp is $350.00. I have seen a 2,000 watt amp from other companies go for that. When it says 1,000 watts does it mean 1,000 watt per port (for like a +2 port amp or a mono amp) or is it like the normal 1,000 in all?

I have been looking for a new laptop for a long time now and what I was looking for is a laptop which can play PC games in near-top graphics, is very fast and reliable, has a stylish design, has a lot of memory and is from a good company.
I was wondering if I should buy the Alienwear M11x gaming laptop. I built one at Dells website for a sampel. The one I built has a Intel® Core™ i7 640UM (4M Cache, 1.20 GHz) processor, Windows 7 home, 3072MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SD RAM [1×2048 + 1×1024] memory, 320GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive, and some other features so in total it came to £910.
I am mainly satisfied so far by what I have seen, I love the keyboard, the design is great and so is itshandlingg of games. But what I want to know is if it is good at speed (loading time, logging on, ect), if it is good at internet browsing. I does it come with a dvd drive built in or will i have to get another attachment, is Alienwear a good company ( It is owned by Dell and I have used 2 of Dells machines in the past and they have not been very good)
My current laptop is a black Packard Bell ( I think it is a MH36-U300 model ) with Windows Vista basic, it has lasted my 3 years. It is not very good at playing Pc games, for example it can handel older games like Rome Total War in top graphics with no lag, but when it plays newer games like Empire Total War the graphics are horrible, there is a lot of lag and the soldier animations are messed up. After this I am hopeing the M11x will be miles better.
Another thing that put me off is the screen size. My current laptop is 15 inches but the new one is only 11, I am not on the move that much and I would like a larger screen. So would Alienwears other models like the M15x or the M17x be better suited to me, are they basically the same laptops but with bigger screens ?
Overall is this laptop worth the money and will it last me good for a long time, or are there better ones on the market

I want to convert my website, although it was initially created for mobile phones using wysiwyg website builder 8, on some phones the image is small and leaves a small space on the side, on other phones users have to use a scroll bar to view the entire image, all I want is for all my images to auto fit any mobile device. I have browsed yellow pages sites, and google search sites, looked at portfolios. There was so much information and so much I don’t know. After i entered my site that supposedly was supposed to forward my information to more companies for quotes and I didn’t get any replies, I gave up searching and came here.
